A Letter to Our Clients

Hampstead Animal Hospital is grateful for the patience, kindness, and cooperation of our valued clients during this global pandemic. We know this is a frustrating, uncertain, and stressful time for everyone.

We have worked very hard to accommodate our existing clients and, when possible, new clients who are unable to receive timely care from their regular veterinarians or emergency hospitals. We initially operated with reduced staff during the first few months of the pandemic, but have hired additional staff members and are constantly working to improve and find solutions to these logistical problems. While these challenges have been incredibly difficult for everyone on our team, we have never lost sight of our dedication to providing exceptional client service and patient care. While we would all love to resume normal operations, we have team members, immediate family, and clients who are at an increased risk for serious illness or death from COVID 19. For this reason, we have decided to continue our current curbside/concierge protocols for the foreseeable future.

Fortunately, we have not had any staff members test positive for COVID-19, which we feel is largely due to the safety protocols that our hospital, and the veterinary profession as a whole, have taken. Outside concierge/curbside service is now the norm in our profession and will continue until the public health risk has been sufficiently reduced. As always, the only exception we are allowing is when our clients make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize a pet. We are allowing up to two family members (with masks) to be present within a dedicated area of the hospital. The doctor performing the euthanasia will also be masked and will be socially distant from our clients.

We greatly appreciate your help with respecting the recommended social distancing of 6 feet, wearing a mask while engaging in outdoor conversations, and transferring your pet to our staff. To continue providing veterinary services during this challenging time, it is imperative that we make every effort to keep each other healthy. Thank you.
